Event: Border: Land Art Festival - Crop Circle Fish

Area: 529 km² (total border length)

Estimated Gross Domestic Product: $1.405 trillion (Poland) / $488.93 billion (Ukraine)

Along the Poland-Ukraine border, an extraordinary land art piece breaks the mold of traditional boundary markers. The striking “crop circle” fish, designed by artist Jaroslaw Koziara, sits on farmland as a symbol of unity between the two nations. This artwork not only highlights creative vision but also stands as a powerful reminder of the history and cultural bonds shared by Poland and Ukraine.

Created for the Land Art Festival in 2011, this living masterpiece beautifully merges creativity and agriculture, connecting Horodyszcze, Poland, and Warez, Ukraine. Koziara’s fish turns the border into an inspiring canvas for harmony and cooperation. With a mix of plant species, the design is visible from above, blending art and nature in a remarkable way.
