Firemen couldn't believe the infants were still alive when they saw them. There was a lot of garbage and dirt in the sewer. Also, the children were freezing and there was no food nearby. The rescuers still thought it was necessary to attempt and help the small animals, even though they had doubts if the infants would be alright.
